Video, 3 min., black and white super-8 film-material. The transfer to U-matic videotape leads to the effect of restrained colouring. A female voice is reading extracts from the first chapter of Alfred Döblins novel
»Berlin Alexanderplatz«. The off-voice does not sound as if she is reading the text to the public, but for herself.
A young woman is diving through the narrow frame of the image in horizontal and vertical direction. The pupils
of a pair of eyes are moving ? reading ? following continuously and jerkily the line of words.
