Pattern

Photographs join together to form uniform series and borders.
From a distance these patterns appear to be assembled out of identical elements. But the closer one approaches
this pattern, the more radically does that, which now becomes recognizable stand in contradiction to one’s first impression of a series of identical elements.

A completely and utterly individual personality looks back at the viewer from within each of the cocoon-like hulls.
The white hulls conceal and reveal at the same time.
The portraits look out of their protective cocoons - disarmingly open.

These portrait series oscillate between the clarity of a serial pattern and the strong presence of individual eye contact.
The images, oscillating between clothing, hull and organic architecture allow a multiplicity of associations to arise.
